Information we collect
You can browse Go Addis (see activities and guest houses near you, check prices and photos) without creating an account. We collect information only once you take one of these actions:
- Account registration: your name and phone number (required), and your email address (optional).
- Password: stored only in hashed form. We never store or have access to your plain-text password.
- Location: with your permission, your precise or approximate location, used to sort nearby activities and guest houses by distance. You can decline this and still use the app; nearby sorting just won't be available.
- Booking history: the activities, classes, and guest house stays you book, so you can view and manage your own bookings.
- Push notification token: with your permission, a device token used to send you booking status updates (confirmations, reminders, changes). You can decline this and still use the app.
We do not collect payment or card details in the app. Bookings are currently paid for at the venue, not through Go Addis. We do not use any analytics or advertising SDKs.
How we use your information
We use collected information to process and confirm your bookings with venues, sort nearby activities by distance, send you booking status updates, provide customer support, and operate the app.
Sharing your information
We share only what's necessary with the businesses you book with, so they can fulfill your reservation, such as your name, phone number, and booking details. Go Addis's backend is self-hosted; we do not share your data with ad networks or other third parties, and we do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us using the details below. You can also turn off location and push notification permissions at any time from your device settings.
